your student services coordinator
The first Douglas J Aveda Institute staff member you meet when enrolling is usually the Admissions Coordinator at your chosen campus. After you begin your program, your next point of contact outside of the educators will be your Student Services Coordinator. Think of it this way--Admissions brings you in, and Student Services is with you throughout your program and leads you out.
Approximately 10 weeks prior to graduation, each student will meet with his or her Student Services Coordinator for an Exit Interview. The meeting typically lasts 30 minutes and is the time when students can give us honest, anonymous feedback about their experience. The Exit Interview is also the time to discuss career plans and ask any questions about placement that has not previously been addressed.
disability accomodations
Douglas J Aveda Institute is willing to make reasonable accomodations fo rstudents with disabilities. Students seeking accomodations must submit a request to the Director of Administration. The Director will review the request and determine what accomodations are available.
student activities
Each student is encouraged to participate in competitions sponsored by cosmetology and other industry related associations, beauty supply companies, etc. Competition is an extra-cirricular activity, and the student does not receive credit for time spent in preparation or participation. Contests are an excellent professional experience and help build confidence in acquired skills.
