Douglas J's newest Institute is located in the downtown area of one of the most desirable suburbs of Metro Detroit. The Royal Oak Institute will carry forth with the same prestige and educational intregrity that is synonymous with the Douglas J name. This modern education facility occupies 15,000 square feet of a 38,000-square-foot, two-story development. The first floor is devoted to a service retail area exclusively featuring Aveda products and sensory experience. The second level houses 76 styling stations, 14 shampoo bowls, a color mixing area, a nail therapy area of 8 manicure and 7 pedicure stations, and spa inclusive of 9 treatment rooms including 3 wet rooms--2 body treatment rooms and a Vichy shower. The remainder of upper level space is dedicated to classroom and office use.

Douglas J is excited to announce our partnership with Americoif! Americoif is a non-profit organization of hairdressers and salons around Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana, offering education from artists around the world. These include top name artists such as Yosh, Vidal Sasson teams, and Vivienne Mackinder. Five of the six shows we'll be located inside our Royal Oak Institute.
