Douglas J Aveda Institute's main campus is located in the heart of East Lansing, across from Michigan State University. This campus maintains 15,500 square feet of space. 7,500 square feet of space is devoted to clinic floor operations, including 67 styling stations, 9 shampoo bowls, a color mixing area, and 4 hooded dryers. The Institute's full day spa consists of 6 manicure and 6 pedicure stations, as well as 7 facial rooms and 3 body treatment rooms, including a Vichy shower. 2,500 square feet is devoted to retail sales and Aveda experience services, including 3 full make-up bars. 4,000 square feet houses the three classrooms. The main level houses the clinic floor space and retail area, while the lower level is dedicated to the day spa, classrooms, offices, and a student lounge.
